Dear Friends,

As we get closer to the dates of our annual district conference, I want to extend another personal invitation to consider attending our family gathering. Christian leadership is a privilege. We are called to serve His church and reach those who are far from Jesus - with the Gospel. Leadership is about love. We must love Jesus more than anyone else, love people who are within God’s family, and love those who may reject, refute or despise us. This year’s conference will inspire the leaders of your church to accomplish the great commission and the great commandment with new and innovative methods. I’m looking forward to meeting some of the lay-leaders and ministry volunteers from your church. Please extend this invitation to your ministry leadership team there.

Our next district network conference is going to be hosted by Broadway Church in the beautiful city of Vancouver, on April 8th to 10th, 2019.  We’re so thankful that Pastor Darin Latham and the leadership team at Broadway have extended an invitation to us.

We have invited some great plenary speakers to shape our thinking around the missional priority of Church and Clergy Health. Our ministry guests will include Karl Vaters (Teaching Pastor of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship and author of “The Grasshopper Myth” and “Small Church Essentials”), Paul Bartlett (Lead Pastor of Lighthouse Church in Australia) and Shaila Visser (National Director for ALPHA Canada).

We invite you to join us on April 8th, 2019, for our opening reception featuring some great stories from our PAOC Global Workers. During our conference, we will also feature a panel discussion with some incredible leaders, along with our business sessions. We are also offering special Children’s sessions, which will run concurrently to our plenary gatherings.

Our theme this year is: PREVAIL. This is based on the scripture found in Romans 8:37b “we are more than conquerors through him who loved us”.
While we live and serve in perilous times, prevailing leadership is the result of empowerment by God’s Holy Spirit and strategic mobilization of His supernatural resources.

We look forward to a good representation of Lay Delegates at District Conference. According to our Constitution and Bylaws: “Each assembly having been set in order, shall have the right to representation in the District Conference meetings by lay delegates. Representation shall be based on the membership of the assembly”.

We are looking forward to seeing you at our district conference in Vancouver.  Please register early so we can make the appropriate preparations for your time with us.

We’re better together,

Rev. Kenneth A. Russell
District Superintendent
