Worship Central Training | Drums

Worship Central Training | Drums

We’d love to invite you out to our first ever Drum Training event! This training session will not only be for drummers of all ages and skill levels, but for musicians that are looking to develop their drumming communication skills when talking to their own drummers.

This will also be a great opportunity to connect with drummers from all across the Lower Mainland.

Our hope is to equip leaders with practical, methodological, and theological proficiency in the context of corporate worship. A range of topics will be covered including:
⁃ the role of drums in contemporary music and in the church
⁃ practical tips on maintaining your kit / making the most of the resources you have
⁃ the essential use of a metronome in contemporary music
⁃ locking in with the rhythm section
⁃ embracing creativity - integrating personal and corporate worship

Date // July 22, 2017
Time // 9:30am - noon
Where // The Tapestry Mundy Park
Cost // $10

The session will be led by Jon Saldanha (http://www.instagram.com/drumsjon, bio below)
Jon Saldanha is a session and live musician based out of Vancouver, BC. At the age of 13, Jon got his first drum kit and just under a couple years later, he began playing in the church. Over the years, Jon has had the opportunity to play with a variety of acts across the Lower Mainland; most notably at our 2016 Worship Central Conference with Kim Walker, Tim Hughes and Ben Fielding. Jon currently attends and plays drums regularly at Village Church in Surrey, BC. In addition to playing music, Jon is also very involved in the Canadian music industry as an Artist Representative and Business Development Consultant for commercial pop artists.
